Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information byondthewords, a product of Shaznation ("we," "us," "our"), collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. byondthewords provides gesture-based learning games for children and adults, including players with ADHD, Autism, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, and other special needs.

1. Information we collect

• Account information: name, email address, and password (stored securely, never in plain text) when you sign up, or basic profile information if you sign up with Google.
• Gameplay data: which games are played, scores, session duration, and how a session ended (win, loss, or exit), so we can track progress and level-up milestones.
• Photos: if a player reaches a 3-star score or level 6 in a game, a "moment" photo may be captured via webcam and saved to that player's private "Living Moments" gallery. This only happens with camera permission granted in the browser, and photos are private to that account — only the account holder can view them. Administrators do not have access to any customer's Living Moments photos.
• Device information: a randomly generated device identifier used to enforce device/seat limits on an account, and standard technical data such as IP address and browser type.
• Payment information: when you purchase access, payment is handled entirely by our payment partners (PayFast, PayPro, and/or Safepay). We do not receive or store your card number or full payment details — we only receive confirmation that a payment was completed.
• Messages you send us: information submitted through our Contact form.

2. How we use this information

• To create and manage your account, including your free trial and subscription status
• To let you play games, track progress, and display results and photo moments back to you
• To enforce the device limit associated with your account
• To respond to support requests and messages
• To maintain the security of our platform, including detecting unusual account activity

We do not sell your personal information to third parties, and we do not use your data for targeted advertising.

3. Who we share information with

• Payment gateways (PayFast, PayPro, Safepay) — to process purchases. They receive only what's needed to complete a transaction.
• Google — if you choose to sign in with Google, basic profile information (name, email) is used to create or match your account.
• Hosting provider — our website and database are hosted with our web hosting provider, who stores data on our behalf under standard hosting terms.

We do not share your information with advertisers or data brokers.

4. Data storage and security

Account and gameplay data is stored in a secured database on our hosting provider's servers. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. While we take reasonable steps to protect your information, no online system can be guaranteed 100% secure.

5. Your choices

• You can delete any photo in your Living Moments gallery at any time.
• You can request that we delete your account and associated data by contacting us.
• You can ask us what information we hold about you at any time.
